Willamette Valley Pie Co. has unveiled its latest innovation – the BerryFields natural snack brand extension. This is the second product launch this year for the frozen baked goods specialist known for ready-to-bake pies, cobblers, crisps and hand-pies in addition to IQF fruit. In March, the Salem, Oregon, USA-based company debuted line of Non-GMO Project Verified pies and hand-pies with butter crusts in tandem with a complete brand refresh.
Made for busy families who want to provide homemade-quality sandwiches for their children, BerryFields snack offerings feature simple, all-natural ingredients loaded with fruit allergy-free almond butter tucked in a soft pastry.
“Since vertically integrating from a family farm in 2001, there is nothing more important to us than using real, sustainably sourced and clean label ingredients you can feel good about giving to your family,” said CEO Austin Kelly. “And as a father myself, I know the real need for delicious and convenient options that aren’t packed with artificial ingredients. We felt there was a gap in current market offerings and knew that BerryFields could be a natural extension of our produce line.”
The hand-held sandwiches are currently available Whole Foods Market stores nationwide for $6.99. Serving up four grams per unit, they can go right from freezer to lunchbox in the morning and be thawed and ready to eat when lunch time arrives. Three flavors, each complimented with protein-rich almond butter tucked in a soft pastry made with real butter, are currently available: Mixed Berry, Strawberry and Grape.
