Grimsby, England-headquartered Young’s Foodservice has launched its first wholemeal-based breadcrumb enrobed fish product into the UK market. The frozen cod portions are coated in light, wholemeal breadcrumb for added fiber, which makes them an excellent source of nutrition for children of all ages.
Containing no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives and taking just 10 minutes to oven bake straight from the freezer, the Wholemeal Cod Portions are quick and easy to prepare. Formulated to meet school food standard guidelines, the product is sustainably sourced and is MSC certified, making it a good option for school foodservice planners. Made from tender cod fillets, the chunky cod portions are a versatile addition to menus.
“We listened to customers who asked for a new take on our crunchy breadcrumb. The wholemeal cod portions are a great source of protein and have a higher fiber content due to the 100% wholegrain wheat flour used in the breadcrumb,” said Adrian Greaves, foodservice director.
He added: “We understand the challenges caterers face when creating a varied menu, and our Wholemeal Cod Portions provide the perfect solution for including something different, without straying too far from the traditional breaded fish dishes children know and love.”
The 85-gram portions are distributed in 50-count cases.
