Orefield, Pennsylvania, USA-headquartered Yuengling’s Ice Cream has introduced a range of three-gallon tubs exclusive to foodservice distributors including ice cream shops, restaurants, colleges, universities, concession stands and other outlets. New flavors now available in batch quantities while supplies last are Raspberry Cheesecake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Vanilla Fudge Cheesecake, Chocolate Cheesecake and Caramel Cheesecake.
Depending on popularity, some of the just launched products may be permanently added to the year-round roster of 18 foodservice tub offerings and two seasonal ice creams.
“Throughout the year we review our distributors’ flavor requests, examine trends in the food industry, and put our heads together to come up with the most delicious new flavors we can imagine. We want to continue to make our fans happy with a mix of proven flavors and those that are just a bit different. Our goal is to continue setting ourselves apart as the go-to super-premium ice cream brand,” said David Yuengling, president of the company, which has been family-owned since 1920.
According to the International Ice Cream Association, “super-premium” is a category segment determined by its quality of ingredients, price, milk fat content, and amount of overrun (air). Ice cream designated as such must be manufactured with the highest-quality ingredients with very low overrun and high fat content, making for a creamier, richer and smoother product.
All Yuengling’s brand ice creams are kosher, PA Preferred, containing 14% butterfat and 80% overrun. Among permanent offerings are Black and Tan (a swirl of rich Belgian chocolate ice cream and salty caramel ice cream); Caramel Popcorn (featuring the taste of buttered popcorn ice cream with rich caramel swirls; Orange Cream (creamy, sweet Madagascar vanilla ice cream swirled with sweet orange cream and bits of real oranges); and Espresso Chocolate Chip (dark coffee ice cream with Espresso chocolate chips.
