Zaxby’s, the premium quick service restaurant operator known for Chicken Fingerz, wings and special sauces, is meaning a new Signature Club Sandwich. It features the Athens, Georgia, USA-headquartered chain’s original Signature Sandwich with two slices of bacon and American cheese, along with a choice of Zax sauce or Spicy Zax sauce. Served as a meal with crinkle fries and a drink, the sandwich will replace the Zaxby’s Club that is currently on the menu. Prices may vary by location.
“With this launch we created our own club remix of the Signature Sandwich and turned it up a notch,” said CMO Joel Bulger. “It is officially here to stay as a permanent menu item.”
In October 2020, the brand sent out its “Y’all ready?” Tweet and revealed the Signature Sandwich in test markets before rolling it out nationwide in March 2021. During test marketing it exceeded performances of the existing hand-breaded fillet by a whopping 600%.
Last year Zaxby’s won the award for Best Fried Chicken Sandwich during the annual Fasties competition sponsored by Thrillist, the online media website dedicated to food, drink, travel and entertainment. The triumphant product features a double hand-breaded fillet, with three thick-sliced, crinkle-cut pickles and is served on a buttery toasted, split-top potato bun.
Zaxby’s reach has grown to more than 900 locations in 17 states since the company’s founding in 1990. Boasting a large presence in the American south, the chain operates 124 units, with the remainder owned by franchisees.
